You may have heard through media that there have been several incidents recently where young children & adults have been crushed by automated gates. As a consequence, new regulations and increased safety measures have now been introduced.
In order to alleviate obvious concerns emanating from the press coverage of these accidents, SCS are offering a full inspection of your gate system including a risk assessment, a quotation of recommendations and other information about your gate system for a small administration fee of £59.95 + VAT. If works do need to be carried out, and SCS are the preferred contractor this fee will be waived. (Please see our installation section to see if we cover your area)
This is a very serious situation and not all gate systems that were installed initially had the relevant safety equipment installed. There are three types of safety measures that a gate system should have which are:
- Safety Loops (This is installed under ground)
- Safety Beams (These fit on the gate posts)
- Safety Edges (These should be installed to the edge of the gate and the metal closing post)
